Wild Turkey z określeniem wieku.
Wandering through the streets of downtown Chicago, I came across a grocery store, which was not at all easy, with all these skyscrapers. Inside, I met the shelf with bourbons. I could not pass by indifferently, the choice fell on Russell’s Reserve Small Batch 10 years old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, bottled 90 proof – 45% ABV. Despite the less well-known name this is basically Wild Turkey with specified age.
So after a while I ended up with a glass in my hand in a hotel room.
N: you know immediately that it is bourbon, lots of vanilla, coconut, caramel, butter cookies, honey, hard candy, generally pleasant and sweet, in a while there is cinnamon, spices and oranges, also candied, later I have even more candied fruits, then traces of raisins, boiled corn with butter, over time, there is a lot of apples, cooked and baked, and perhaps quince;
T: here it is also sweet, with honey, caramel, vanilla, coconut, further also cinnamon, cardamom, oranges and other candied fruits, cooked apples and fruit compote, with time some wooden elements appear with strengthening ginger and warming-up in the second phase;
F: medium length, dry with candied orange and ginger.
Russell’s Reserve Small Batch 10 years old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a solid bourbon for every occasion. Longer aging added here additional and deeper tones. It is worth remembering that this is basically a Wild Turkey with specified age – 10 years old. There aren’t many bourbons on the blog (Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Wild Turkey 81, Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof 112.8 Proof 56.4% ABV) I hope there will be more of them, they represent a good alternative to Scotch or Japanese whisky. Additionally, in this case, we get very good value for money.
