Distillery's entry level single malt.
When in the spring I have described Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12 years old on the blog, I mentioned about the flagship product of the distillery – Glenmorangie Original 10 years old. It is time to share impressions from the tasting.
Standard presentation. 40% ABV, colouring and chillfiltration. I bought this bottle in Germany. According to the law of that country, if the whisky is colored consumer must be informed about this, hence the inscription on the bottle.
N: sweet, lots of vanilla, very fresh, touches of bread, wholemeal bread, ripe orange, orange peel, lemon peel, peach and pear;
T: here it is also sweet, fruity with orange juice, figs and pleasant traces of wood;
F: medium length with delicate traces of wood and a touch of figs.
Whisky generally well accessible, calm and not demanding, should taste also to a novices in the world of single malts. Once I drank Glenmorangie Original 10 years old with the addition of orange peel, cool experiment. You can also try to add a teaspoon of orange juice, it will be nice too.
