Today it is time for available only in the distillery Glenfiddich 15 years old, cask strength 58.1% ABV. I bought that bottle and I filled it myself there. It comes from batch 20 its no is 81. Everything happened four years ago on September 24, 2013. To an even greater joy the Master Distiller Brian Kinsman dedicated it to me. Brian once again thank you and best regards. In fact, the whole trip was very successful.
N: still in the bottle I have an explosion of fruit: peach, apricot, orange, apple, pear and plum, all interwoven with vanilla and pleasant oak – a very good omen of what will happen next, I have big expectations ;), in the glass it begins with delicate pepper, ginger, but at once I also have the sweetness of vanilla, caramel and a little oak, in the second phase the pre-existing fruits come back all the time maintained and replaced by each other, then there are spices, cardamom and escalating ginger, after adding a few drops of water it became sweeter with more orange, in general malt opens even more;
T: mmmm blissful and comprehensive with a slight sparking on the tongue, sweet vanilla, caramel and toffee, ripe oranges, cooked apples and pears, fruit cake, prunes also in chocolate, then traces of oak and ginger, after addition of a few drops of water it just opened up beautifully;
F: long, sweet with ripe orange and ginger.
Glenfiddich 15 years old 58.1% ABV Distillery Exclusive is much to my liking, it is versatile and beautifully balanced. Taste corresponds well to smell. Despite of the high power it is possible to taste without adding water, though for the experiment a few drops will not harm.
