The only distillery on the Islay of Skye.
As probably I have already mentioned in a few places (eg. Tasting in the Orkney) a year ago I also traveled to Scotland. I visited several distilleries, but so far it eluded me to write about them. I’ll have to slowly make up for these shortcomings.
Due to the fact that recently I tasted Talisker 10 years old, today I give some photos from the visit in this distillery.
It should be remembered that Talisker is the only distillery located on the beautiful Isle of Skye – island of the Atlantic coast, located in the village of Carbost. Distillery was founded in 1830 and now belongs to DIAGEO. In the mixed form this single malt can be found eg. in the blend Johnnie Walker.
Isle of Skye from the main island can be reached either by ferry or bridge. Therefore, communication should not be a problem.
Along the way, you can catch a photo of a friendly Highland Cow.
And the departure … for casks.
Isle of Skye is not only Talisker Distillery. This is a beautiful island of varied landscape. Certainly you should not avoid it during the tour of Scotland. They also have delicious sea food. One day I’ll be back.
