Skarb z Isle of Mull […]

Punktem docelowym tegorocznego wyjazdu miała być Isle of Mull i leżąca nieopodal Isle of Iona. No dobrze, dość zanudzania, przejdźmy do cieczy. Zasadnicza część dojrzewania odbywała się w refill hogsheads, by potem poleżeć jeszcze 29 miesięcy w Ruby...

    Utah Whiskey

With age, the time is running faster or all that is good soon ends, you could endlessly cite this type of wisdom. I just got back from vacation, hence the mood. That is why it may be worth a moment to reminisce. I was in the US, most the time in Utah - beautiful national parks and this kind of stuff. Really very nice, peaceful area, worth exploring and returning. I would not be myself if I didn’t look at the liquor stores from time to time. And there is a surprise ... the lack of whisky ......

Do you remember the first Polish single malt - Prologue or 100% rye whisky Mr. Rye? These products comes from a Polish producer Kozuba and Sons. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Rye received 91 points in the Jim Murrays Whisky Bible 2017. Interesting ... for quite a few years, Kozuba and Sons have company in Jabłonki near Nidzica (Poland) and I have never managed to visit it, finally had to go across the Atlantic to see a new distillery in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. By the way this is...

After the last post about Bowmore Tempest 10 years old Batch VI it is worth, if only for a moment, to move to the place of its creation, which I visited during last years stay on Islay. I was there the second time, probably not the last ;) Without any further ado, I invite you to a photo report from a visit to the Bowmore Distillery. Far north

Some time ago I had the opportunity to go out far to the north, to the Orkney Islands. Home of Highland Park and Scapa. Other posts on this trip include A visit to the Glenfarclas Distillery or Tasting on Orkney. I invite you to the photo report of the visit to the Orkney. Orkney Islands are located north of the main island, so to get there we have to decide on a plane or ferry. We chose the ferry. Once you get to the Isle of Islay, you should find time and visit the Isle of Jura, with the only distillery on the island at the helm. Paps of Jura are a landmark of Isle of Jura - they are perfectly visible from many places on Islay. [caption id=attachment_5733 align=alignnone width=801] Paps of Jura[/caption] The easiest way to reach the Jura from Islay is to use a small ferry, which takes off from Port Askaig and flows through the strait, directly to the Jura - Feolin Ferry....

In October 2015 Warsaw hosted the first event under the auspices of the Whisky Live. This represented a development of Whisky Fair Warsaw 2014. Obviously I could not miss the event. I have positive feelings about its organization and conduct. There were a lot of exhibitors and whisky to taste. I am particularly pleased with the meeting and knowledge of a large number of fans of my favorite drink. I greet you all warmly. Below, in a nutshell, I present a photo report of what happened to me...

As a continuation of posts about the last visit on Islay (Visit to the Ardbeg Distillery, Visit to the Bunnahabhain Distillery) today my photo report from the visit to the Laphroaig Distillery. On the blog there is a similar post from a visit I did two years ago. Then I was on a trip Water to Whisky Experience. This is the longest and most comprehensive opportunity to meet the distillery. Indeed recommendable. This year I decided on a shorter program - Distillers Wares, which includes tour of...

Continuing last posts relating to Islay (e.g. A visit to the Ardbeg Distillery) today photos from a visit to the Bunnahabhain Distillery. This is the northernmost distillery on the island, close to Port Askaig and Caol Ila. A narrow and winding lane leads to this place, giving a lot of emotions while driving. Distillery itself is left in a fairly natural form, without any big marketing touch, there is no separate Visitiors Centre either. On the other hand, there is everything you need to...

A few days ago we had here a post explaining how to get to Isle of Islay (sorry in Polish only), and then tasting impressions of Ardbeg Supernova SN2015 Committee Release. We must therefore follow the blow, so today photorelation from a visit to the Ardbeg Distillery. During this years visit to Ardbeg I decided on two tours: Bog Off and Bicentenary Evening Tour. The first was to march up the island, by layers of peat, to the water source of the distillery. In fact there are two sources:...
