Jim Beam is a bourbon, produced in Clermont, Kentucky.
Today I decided to write a review of smtg widely accesible and affordeable. Jim Beam had been choosen. It is said that distillery was founded in 1795. Now belongs to the Beam Inc., the owner aslo of e.g. Laphroaig, Ardmore, Connemara, Teacher’s and Canadian Club.
Classical version of Jim Beam, matures 4 years in new American white oak barells,that had been charcoaled inside before pouring destilate in. Bourbon is bottled with 40% ABV and natural colour. Natural colour in this case is obvious as American regulations doesn’t accept colouring bourbons. Producers are also obligated to use at least 51% of corn in production process.
C: amber – it is natural;
N: vanilla, hard candy, fruity sweets, sweet;
T: it’s interesting as the taste comes after a while, sweet, vanilla and then gets slightly spicy with a hint of oak;
F: medium long.
Nice bourbon for afternoom siping. Nose and taste is a little unilateral. Perfect for mixing e.g. with Cola. Good quality for a price.
Scoring, according to current criteria: 76
