Ritters Soprt Rum […]

Dziś na deser przyszło mi skosztować Springbank 15 years old Rum Wood. Mamy tu tradycyjnie dla destylarni z Campbelltown, naturalny kolor, non chill filtered, do tego 51% ABV. Destylacja nastąpiła w grudniu 2003 roku, natomiast zabutelkowanie w sierpniu 2019 roku. Ze stajni Springbanka ostatnio mieliśmy tu Local Barley 10 years old. Springbank 15 years old Rum Wood, 51% ABV Springbank 15 years old Rum Wood, 51% ABV K: złoty; N: od samego początku bardzo rodzynkowy, czekoladowy, moje pierwsze skojarzenie to czekolada Ritters Soprt Rum, zaraz pojawia się też mleczna czekolada, co ciekawe przy 51% ABV nie dopada mnie alkoholowe drażnienie na nosie, jedynie może delikatne mrowienie, następnie przewijają się tony metaliczno mineralne, olej silnikowy, jakiś smar, pewnie to wpływ lekkiego zatorfienia, po chwili wracają lżejsze akcenty, wanilii, brzoskwini i moreli, potem jeszcze ślady banana, może kokos, robi się coraz bardziej klasycznie, oczywiście przyjemnie, co chwilę można doszukać się nowego akcentu; S: tu alkohol od razu daje o sobie znać szczypaniem języka, ale nie ma w tym nic dziwnego z uwagi na jego stężenie, tak jak w zapachu czekolada rumowa, mleczna czekolada, spora dawka rodzynek, może też figi, a potem szuszona morela, brzoskwinia i skórka pomarańczowa, w oddali ślady rumu, po chwili przychodzi jeszcze banan, ślady kokosu; F: średniej długości, lekko wytrawny z elementami suszonej moreli i pozostałościami rodzynek. Punktacja: 89.

    Peat and red wine.

During last Whisky Live Warsaw 2017, a friend of mine presented me a solid sample of Longrow Red 13 years old Malbec Cask Matured - great thanks. Longrow is a peated whisky produced by the Springbank Distillery, next to the Springbark (medium peated) and much milder Hazelburn. We are talking about the Campbeltown Region, which is the smallest whisky region in Scotland. In addition to these, there are also Glen Scotia Distillery and Glengyle Distillery producing Kilkerran. My guest for today...

    Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Springbank, Springbank, I have not been seen you here recently, lately, I do not remember when, here was Springbank 175 12 years old, on that occasion I also wrote a few words about the distillery itself. Springbank 11 years old Local Barley is an interesting experiment, the manufacturer wanted to limit to the local ingredients and traditional production methods. The Bere barley grew on the Kintyre Peninsula, a few kilometers from Campbeltow on the Aros Farm, then malted in the distillery....

    new expression from Campbeltown Region

[caption id=attachment_2027 align=alignnone width=801] Glen Scotia 10 years old[/caption] Glen Scotia is next, after Springbank, distillery from Campbeltown Region that I write about on my blog. The distillery was established in 1832 and for many years has remained in the shadow of its larger neighbor. Today, people from Glen Scotia would like to change this situation. Taken assumptions are correct, as the new issues are 46% ABV, bottled natural color and unchillfiltered. In addition,...

Single Malt on the occasion 175 anniversary of the distillery

Springbank Distillery is located in Campbeltown, Scotland. There were times when Campbeltown used to be called the capital of whisky with about 28 distilleries. Today there are only three left: Springbank, Glengyle and Glen Scotia. Springbank Distillery produces three single malts: Springbank, Hazelburn and Longrow. Distillery is independent of big companies and makes traditional, crafted whisky. Starting from own barley growing, through own malting floors, un-chillfiltration, natural colour...

    Miscellanea Travel

This year the organizers decided not to do payable Masterclasses in favor of included in the ticket price Mini Stages, of course with limited seating.

In the case of whisky, Mini Stages consisted of a presentation of whiksy expression specially prepared and bottled for the Tokyo Intenational Bar Show & Whisky Live Tokyo, talking about the history of the distillery and of course tasting. Demonstrations were run by representatives of producers with the participation of Dave Broom - editor of Whisky Magazine. Everything was smoothly translated from English to Japanese. It concerned interesing situations, as in Japanese there are many words,...
