Whisky Live Singapore 2014 part 2
Nikka Masterclass i Collector Room […]
During the Whisky Live Singapore 2014 I participated in one Masterclass, which I had to sign up with the purchase of the ticket. The organizers tried to make as many people would choose a Masterclass, hence the participation in several of them was not possible. You could choose from: Trade masterclass Rum appreciation debate Johnie Walker from farmer to global Scotch icon Nikka masterclass GlenDronach masterclass Pernod Ricard Boutique Malts Glenfiddich Solera Deconstruction Monkey Shoulder Cocktail Craft I would go gladly to all of them, but this was not possible. I was never on classes about Japanese whisky, so the choice fell on Nikka. Masterclass was hosted by Emiko Kaji Global Brand Ambassador. First, she told the story of Masataka Tatetsuru and history of whisky in Japan. Then we moved on to study composition and tasting of Taketsuru NAS, 17 years old and 21 years old. This year 12 year old version, which I described on the blog, has been replaced by the NAS (no age statement). Overall, Taketsuru is a very pleasant pure malt.
