Próbowaliśmy wtedy Bruichladdich Laddie Classic, Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2010, Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2011, Port Charlotte 10 years old i Octomore 08.1. Dodatkową niespodzianką był Bruichladdich Black Art 26 years old. Po imprezie zdecydowałem się zabrać ze sobą do domu Bruichladdich 10 years old (oczywiście drodze umowy...

    Sherry casks and peat

I was going to to place this post in April, because the bottle of Bowmore 10 years old Dark & Intense, 40% ABV, I bought back then while a visit to Kyto, Japan. I came across it accidentally, in fact I accidentally came across a whisky store that was next to the sushi bar, which was the purpose of my visit to that part of the city. In the store, the choice was quite wide and decent, the prices did not seem excessive either. I think it was cheaper than in my country. After deeper...

    Young and ready

It has been a while since last Kilchoman on the blog, then it was a version prepared for Whisky Live Tokyo 2013. Today I also have a festival version, the Whisky & Friends M&P Festival. This time it is also a single cask, no 254/2011, my bottle is 45 out of 258, distilled on 27th May 2011 and bottled on 11th April 2016, natural color, unchillfiltered, cask strength 58% ABV, finish in Pedro Ximenez casks. There is nothing to hide I like single casks the most. Lets get straight to the...

    Thirsty malt

Cairdeas, or friendship, thats how Laphroaig calls his annual editions for Feis Ile. Probably not to be called otherwise, since the purchase of this bottle this year was a real torment. First, I was looking for Cask Strength, but this quickly ended, then Laphroaigs website decided to prove that youre not strong enough to face it. Finally after two days I was able to reach the stage of entering credit card details. And then, no confirmation, email, contact, nothing. After a few days the...

    Independent Caol Ila

Yesterday I was at Whisky Live Sopot 2017. This is the first edition of this event in Sopot. It was smaller (in terms of the number of exhibitors and visitors) than eg Whisky Live Warsaw 2016 or 2015, but for sure more intimate, which really suited me. I dont like crowds. You could talk freely to each other and easily get anywhere. Waiting and counting on next editions. One of the more interesting stands was Adelphi. There Caol Ila 13 years old felt into my hands. Distilled in 2003, bottled...

    200 anniversary

Recently, we have many round anniversaries on Islay, there was Laphroaig, Ardbeg and now 200 anniversary of Lagavulin. The distillery does not offer many official editions. We can choose from delicious 16 years old, more rare 12 years old and annual special editions. All gain consumer recognition. On the occasion of the 200th birtday, Lagavulin decided to present 8 years old whisky. At first glance, it sounds modest, for such a large and round anniversary. Of course, the distillery has added...

    Laphroaig from Douglas Laing

It’s been a long time since we had here Laphroaig ;), recently it appeared on the blog in August – it was 10 years old from 70s. Therefore, it is time for the next one. Today also quite unusual, because of independent bottler - Douglas Laing from a series of Old Particular. It was released to celebrate the Feis Ile 2015. Distillation in February 2001, bottling in February 2015. Single cask - refill butt - a total of 636 bottles with 48.4% ABV. Of course, natural color and no chill...

After the last post about Bowmore Tempest 10 years old Batch VI it is worth, if only for a moment, to move to the place of its creation, which I visited during last years stay on Islay. I was there the second time, probably not the last ;) Without any further ado, I invite you to a photo report from a visit to the Bowmore Distillery. My favourite Bowmore series

It seems that the Bowmore 10 years old Tempest series has adopted well and we have another edition. There are Batch 3 and V already on the blog and today I have in my glass Batch VI. Both 3 and VI I bought during visits to the distillery. Tempest arouses my smile from the very first glance. Natural color, unchillfiltered, cask strength 54.9% ABV, first fill bourbon barrels. What more could you want? This is obviously a rhetorical question. And ... one more thing, of which today we should...
