A visit to the Glenfarclas Distillery
Speyside distillery […]
After the last relation from a visit to the Talisker Distillery, today lets move from the Isle of Skye to the Speyside, to Ballindalloch - home of the Glenfarclas Distillery. It was founded in 1836, and since 1865 remains in the hands of the Grant family. A typical independent distillery for generations owned by the same family. A characteristic feature of single malt derived from the company is aging whisky primarily in sherry casks. The beautiful example of Glenfarclas is vintage 1953, 58 years old. Also more accessible versions e.g. 12 years old or 21 years old are very nice. When you will be near sometime it is worth to walk in. Everything is well organized, the staff is very friendly and with great knowledge. Here are some photos from the distillery.
