46%, non chill-filtered, natural colour […]

For some time I have on the shelf Bruichladdich Rocks. This is no age statement single malt (NAS), a pity ... but in return we get a 46% ABV, non chill-filtered and natural color. I bought this bottle in Malaysia, Langkawi, for a very attractive price approx. 20 Euro. This is duty-free island and probably it is a merit of that. There are already a several bottles of Bruichladdich on the blog (e.g. Laddie Classic Edition 1, Port Charlotte An Turas Mor, Port Charlotte CE 05 Valinch), lets see how Rocks will rock. [caption id=attachment_6129 align=alignnone width=1602] Bruichladdich Rocks[/caption] [caption id=attachment_6130 align=alignnone width=1602] Bruichladdich Rocks[/caption] C: amber; N: lots of vanilla, interspersed with cherries, sweet cherries and plums, then maybe even a lemon peel, further again sweet with honey and toffee, I have the impression that all fairly quickly evaporates, remaining primarily sweet tones; after a while it gets metallic - mineral; T: relatively quickly shows its entire range and leaves a warm-up, Ive got not too intense elements of fruits, cherries, plums, honey, toffee and traces of ginger; F: rather short with vanilla and honey. Score: 78. Bruichladdich Rocks initially encourages with a pleasant smell, which quickly evaporates and leaves some sweet elements, passing in to metallic. It seems to me that the taste relatively quickly shows all its advantages and escapes. All this might indicate that this is a young whisky. Of course, for everyday sipping it is ok, especially for this price. On the other hand, today the price would not be a repeated. Bogha – Drochaide

Last time I visited Islay Ive been to Bruichladdich (An Turas Mor, Laddie Classic Edition 1). There my eyes were attracted by sherry butt of peated whisky for self-filling. There was no choice, I just had to fill a bottle for yourself. peated single malt from Bruichladdich

I have just I realized that although Islay is my favorite region in the World of Whisky, the blog does not have all single malt representatives from the island. I shall immediately fix it. Thus, I reach for Bruichladdich. As we are talking about Islay I have chosen peated version - Bruichladdich Port Charlotte An Turas Mor. It is not easy to determine the current nature of the distillery. Under the roofs of the warehouses distillates are aged in wide range of various casks, from bourbon, by...
