Mysterious dram – Blind tasting

It's always an interesting experience […]

During the 5th Whisky Festival in Jastrzębia Góra, I tried many malts, I also got a few samples, including one mysterious. Mysterious, without specifying any details, just for fun in blind tasting. There was nothing left for me to do. Nice weather, so I called the dog and went to the sea to taste. In order not to get carried away by the beautiful nature, I carried out the second part of the tasting after returning home. [caption id=attachment_7809 align=alignnone width=1920] Blind Tasting[/caption] C: gold; N: the nose is very calm and gentle, there isnt any impact of alcohol or other heavy tones, one thing is certain the great peat is not here, it is not Laphroaig;) that is sure, then I have some glimpses of fruit, peaches, apricots, pears, plums, only after I get a little of vanilla and caramel, after some time I received also raisins and traces of cappuccino; T: slightly warming, with traces of ginger, grapefruit and orange peel, maybe coffee and dark chocolate too, later I have the impression that there are some wooden elements here, it got a little drier; F: medium length with the remainder of the orange peel, dry. Score: 82. Interesting whisky with a calm and balanced nose. In the taste I got some wooden elements, fruits and even traces of coffee. The smell is very calm and balanced. Everything is kept in a relatively mild climate, I assume it is 40% ABV. On the other hand, there is nothing irritating or intrusive here. It turned out to be Johnnie Walker Black Label Sherry Edition. Thus a 12 year old blend, containing an additional portion of distillate aged in sherry casks. Thats a surprise. What as what, but I did not put on it to be blend. I was closer to something from Speyside, maybe one of Singleton or Cardhu, just a free thought. I would not bet on the Black Label, which...
